From the Bench to the Brief: Mastering Evidence-Based Practice in Litigation

Dr. Kady Martini

is recognized for her contributions to evidence-based practice and innovative teaching approaches. She serves as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice at The Ohio State University where she teaches and is a leader in RN-BSN and traditional undergraduate students' evidence-based practice.

In addition to her teaching, Dr. Martini works with the Helene Fuld Health Trust National Institute for Evidence-based Practice in Nursing and Healthcare traveling around the world teaching healthcare organizations how to make evidence-based practice a reality in their organizations. Participants of this 5-day immersion course learn the step-by-step EBP process as well as effective strategies for implementing EBP in clinical or academic organizations of any size or level of complexity. Participants develop an action plan for implementing and sustaining EBP changes and transforming organizational culture.

Alongside Dr. Martini’s academic work, she is a Nursing Professional Development Specialist at Bon Secours Mercy Health as the System Evidence-based Practice Lead and still works clinically PRN as a Clinical Administrator at Mercy West and Mercy Fairfield. Dr. Martini contributes to the service of nursing excellence as the Sigma Epsilon Chapter President, Sigma Epsilon Chapter Delegate, and current candidate for Region 9 Coordinator for Sigma.

Martini is also published author on evidence-based practice, including in the book, “Evidence-Based Physical Examination: Best Practices for Health and Well-Being Assessment,” by Springer Publishing, and “Improving Self-Reported Person-Centered Care Competency in Nursing Students: A Pilot Study Using Interactive Case Studies.”

Dr. Martini earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the College of Mount St. Joseph in Delhi, Ohio, her Master of Science degree with a focus in nursing administration from the University of Cincinnati, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from The Ohio State University College of Nursing – where she also completed her Graduate Interdisciplinary Specialization in College and University Teaching and Education.
